Greg Ruthven
Greg Ruthven is an Executive Director with Rennie, based in Perth.
Greg specialises in Australia's energy markets and energy regulation, including policy development and engagement, analysis of regulatory opportunities and risk, and advising on impacts and implementation of regulatory reforms. Greg has played an active role in the transition of both the WA Wholesale Electricity Market and National Electricity Market over the last 15 years through regulatory reforms, rule changes, impact assessment and implementation programs.
Prior to joining Rennie, Greg spent 12 years at the Australian Energy Market Operator and its WA predecessor, the Independent Market Operator, as a specialist in energy market regulation and in operations management, during which he was seconded into the WA Government for a year to lead the development of electricity spot market design policy. Greg also worked for more than 10 years in account management and field operations at technology company SLB.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) (Electrical and Electronic), and Bachelor of Science (IT/Mathematics).
