David Northcott
David Northcott is an Associate Director with Rennie, based in Brisbane.
David specialises in complex regulatory analysis and problem solving across the energy value chain, with a focus on electricity networks. David has provided legal, regulatory, and policy advice to governments and private businesses on a range energy network and market issues, including renewable energy zones, transmission underwriting, market power mitigation arrangements, and network connection and economic regulatory arrangements.
Prior to joining Rennie, David spent over three years with the Electricity Division within the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources and prior to that was a commercial lawyer with Minter Ellison working in commercial law and regulation in the energy sector. During that time, David worked closely with electricity network clients on contestable metering reforms, regulatory determinations, and network connections and contractual arrangements.
David holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts (Hons), and Bachelor of Arts/Teaching.
